Metadata-Stripped Images on Match
Images lack the device, timestamp, or location metadata a photo taken as described would normally carry. On Match, where the dominant catfish pattern is older-skewing user base targeted with military-deployment and widower personas, this tactic is a common companion to that pattern. Match has no native video-call feature, so testing for this tactic usually means proposing a call on a separate app instead.
Counter-Move
Absence of expected metadata is not proof by itself (many platforms strip it automatically), but combined with other tells it narrows the picture.
Check It
The tell — Images lack the device, timestamp, or location metadata a photo taken as described would normally carry. — is visible in the photo itself, which is what this tool checks.
