Burner Number Usage on Google Voice
A number that traces to a VoIP or virtual carrier rather than a standard mobile carrier, not matching the claimed region. On Google Voice, where the dominant catfish pattern is a free, disposable second number handed out in place of a real personal line, this tactic is a common companion to that pattern. Google Voice has no native video-call feature, so testing for this tactic usually means proposing a call on a separate app instead.
Counter-Move
Checking a number's line type before saving it as a trusted contact is a cheap, high-value habit.
Check It
Burner Number Usage frequently routes through a phone number, which is what this tool checks the line type on.
