Authority Invocation on SilverSingles
The claimed role conveniently explains every inconvenient pattern at once: no video calls, unusual hours, or need for funds. On SilverSingles, where the dominant catfish pattern is widower/retired-professional personas targeted at an older, asset-holding user base, this tactic is a common companion to that pattern. SilverSingles has no native video-call feature, so testing for this tactic usually means proposing a call on a separate app instead.
Counter-Move
A real high-prestige role is independently checkable (a registry, an employer, a licensing board) — ask, and treat resistance as the answer.
