Talk to a Match Without Exposing Your Real Number : Countering Platform-Hopping Request
Talk to a Match Without Exposing Your Real Number is the direct counter to Platform-Hopping Request: A request to switch apps arrives within the first few messages, before any real rapport would normally justify it. Route early conversation through an encrypted messenger or a secondary number instead of your primary line.
Steps
- 01
Keep the conversation on the original platform, or a chosen encrypted messenger, until trust is established.
- 02
If a phone number is genuinely needed, use a secondary or virtual number rather than your primary line.
- 03
Treat early, repeated pressure to get your real number as a data point on its own.
